St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrest Violet man for possession with intent to distribute narcotics, seize handgun

Following an undercover investigation being conducted by the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division Narcotics Unit, a Violet man was arrested for possession with the intent to distribute Tramadol, and a handgun was recovered, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

Jason Blaise, 29, of the 5600 block of St. Matthew Circle in Violet, was booked Aug. 1 with possession with the intent to distribute Tramadol, possession of heroin, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

During the course of the investigation, agents executed a search warrant at Blaise’s home and recovered Tramadol, heroin, plastic baggies and digital scales.

Agents also recovered a .9mm Smith & Wesson handgun, Sheriff Pohlmann said.

A criminal history check was conducted on Blaise which revealed he has a prior conviction for possession of heroin.

Blaise was transported to St. Bernard Parish Prison to be booked accordingly.
