St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrest Arabi woman for distribution of crack cocaine, recover cash and other narcotics
During the course of an undercover investigation being conducted by the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division Narcotics Unit, an Arabi woman was arrested for distribution of crack cocaine, and a large amount of cocaine was seized, along with other narcotics and cash, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
Darrelyn Smith, 30, of the 1000 block of Government Street, was booked April 10 with possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substance over 28 grams and under 200 grams, possession of Alprazolam, possession of Cyproheptadine Hydrochloride, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
After obtaining a search warrant for Smith’s residence, agents recovered more than 54 grams of cocaine with a street value of approximately $5,600, Alprazolam, Cyproheptadine Hydrochloride, $823 in cash, and drug paraphernalia, including clear plastic bags and a digital scale, the Sheriff said.
A criminal history check was conducted on Smith which revealed she has four prior felony drug convictions.
Smith is being held in St. Bernard Parish Prison in lieu of a $43,000 bond.
