Five all-terrain vehicles stolen recently from their owners in eastern St. Bernard Parish have been recovered and a man who pulled a rifle on teen-agers who were chasing him as he rode one stolen four-wheeler was booked on several charges, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

The recovered four-wheelers, stolen during the month of February, were found by the Sheriff’s Office this week in several loc in eastern St. Bernard Parish, the sheriff said.

Ryan Lajoie, 18, 1600 Robert Drive in eastern St. Bernard, was booked on Wednesday with several charges after he pulled a rifle on several teen-agers who were chasing him and another man who were riding a stolen ATV, Sheriff Pohlmann said.

Lajoie and the man he was with fled on foot after the incident but he was recognized and was later found and arrested by sheriff’s detectives. the sheriff said.

Lajoie was booked with felony possession of stolen property – the four wheeler he was riding – and with aggravated assault for pointing the rifle, which itself had been stolen when the four-wheeler was taken. Lajoie also was booked with distribution of marijuana based on an outstanding warrant narcotics officers had and with probation violation.

He was booked into St. Bernard Parish Prison and bond was set at $60.000 for him.

Authorities were trying to identify the second man who was with Lajoie and an arrest is expected, the sheriff said. A sixth four-wheeler stolen in February hasn’t been recovered, Sheriff Pohlmann said.
