St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office served hot meals by ResQue
ResQue, a first response, volunteer, humanitarian organization that supports first responders activated in disaster recovery, fed St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office deputies hot meals on Monday, April 20 to show appreciation for their hard work, dedication and willingness to put their lives on the line to protect their community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
More than 180 meals were served, which consisted of pulled pork sandwiches, macaroni and cheese and coleslaw.
ResQue has also served free meals at area hospitals and nursing homes in the last few weeks. For more information about the group, visit https://hogs-resque.square.site/.

St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office units sanitized free by Servpro
Servpro of Slidell and Servpro of the New Orleans Westbank recently donated their time and services to sanitize more than 80 St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office units to rid them of any traces of COVID-19. The high touch area cleaning and misting process took about 10 minutes for each unit to be sanitized both inside and out. Joe Dierking, Servpro general manager, said owners Joe and Marietta Scott always try to give back to their community and wanted to do this to support the first responders who are on the front lines.

St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office investigating homicide in Meraux
The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office is investigating the homicide of a male victim that occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 7 in the 4200 block of East St. Bernard Highway in Meraux, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
The investigation is ongoing.
